Chandigarh – Sufi singer Jyoti Nooran, ‘Nooran Sisters’ group, wants to break away her nuptial ties with her husband Kunal Passi and want divorce.She has filed a case in the court for ‘divorce’.
In a press conference held at Jallandhar, Jyoti Nooran has made serious allegations on her husband Kunal Passi saying that her husband consumes naracotic substances and has been beating her. Jyoti naming Charas, Afeem and Ganja said that Kunal used to go away from house without informing her and as a wife, she used to ask him, he used to assualt her. She said everything was fine during first year of marriage but after that the circumstances started getting worse.
Addressing a media conference , she accused her husband Kunal Passi has been interferring in her work which she does not like. She said Passi never has shared proper finances related information with her. When she checked her accounts details from bank, she came to know that her account balance is just Rs. 92000. She alleged Kunal has missed a huge amount of Rs. 20 crore and he has used the money she has earned in country and abroad.
Referring to a recent incident, Jyoti told that after a show ended in Phagwara, she told her husband Kunal that she want to go to her parents home at Jallandhar as she was very tired and wanted to take rest. She said her husband started beating her in car and hit something on her head, she was still going through the pain in head, Jyoti added.
Jyoti Nooran and Kunal Passi got married in 2014 with mutual consent whereas the family of Nooran was not agreed with her decision at the time of their marriage. A controversy had popped up at that time also and Jyoti was quite vocal against her patents after getting married with Kunal.
Jyoti and Kunal has performed Hindu marriage customs to tie the knot. The couple had sought protection from the Punjab and Haryana High Court after the marriage and which was granted by the court.
Now, Jyoti Nooran alleges Kunal Passi has been harassing her and she is going through such situation from the last 8 years and now is upset with it. She is living seprate from her husband now, Jyoti said. She alleges Kunal has been doing all booking deals of shows till now but never given exact finances and accounts. She has made it clear anyone wants to book her for shows should contact her management team from nowonwards.
When asked why did not she complain to police in all these 7-8 years of such situation, she replied that she believed that the circumstances would change and Kunal would improve and life would be fine but it never happened. Now, the water has gone over the head and she couldnot bear it anymore. She said she would go back to her parents house and start singing with her sister and father.
