Massive publicity campaigns to promote delhi model, but not a single word to celebrate our own students achievement
AAP, Cong campaigned hard to destroy punjab’s self confidence but students have delivered a resounding slap across their faces now
Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked CM Bhagwant Mann to “celebrate the achievement of our own teachers and students and to stop wasting hundreds of crores of rupees of Punjabi taxpayers hard-earned money on nationwide media publicity and advertisement campaigns to sing praises of the non existing achievements of Arvind Kejrival and his Delhi government.”
“I am shocked that while Bhagwant Mann is not letting any opportunity go to joyfully burn and squander the money of a resource starved Punjab on issuing nationwide advertisements to promote Kejrival and his “fake Delhi model” , while refusing even to acknowledge the achievements of his own state vis a vis Delhi”. “Mann is singing praises of Delhi model at the expense of the promotion of the glorious achievements of Punjabis, including “our children, youth, students and teachers.
The CM who had delivered such long speeches to preach our own proud and competent teachers is ashamed to tell the world that Punjab’s teachers and students are already far ahead of others including their counterparts from Delhi. Our students and teachers have now demonstrated something which AAP and Congress have always tried to hide – that Punjabis are the best in every field.
Punjab has proved that it is the best in the country,” said the Akali leader in a statement here today. Commenting on Punjab govt’s refusal to own and celebrate the achievement of their own students and teachers, Mr Badal said, “Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and other leaders of AAP shamelessly humiliated the children of our state by rubbishing their achievements and singing praises of the ‘fake Delhi model.
AAP’s lies stand exposed today as their so-called Delhi model is nowhere near the glory achieved by the teachers and students under the Punjab Model,” said Mr Badal. Mr Badal wondered why the Punjab CM is ashamed to tell the world that the children of his state are the best. “He knows that Punjab model has been adopted by the Govt of India. But he is scared of owning this achievement because this will prove something which he and Kejrival want to hide: that our students and teachers are far ahead of their competitors from Mann’s dreamland, Delhi.
Mr Badal asked the CM why he has not thought it necessary to issue even a single advertisement to celebrate the achievements of the people of his own state. “Are you so scared of Kejrival that you do not want to even congratulate our own achievers, fearing that this will expose the hollow claims of your boss on the Delhi Model?” asked Mr Badal, urging Mann to personally call the teachers, the students and their parents to proudly celebrate their achievement .
“Those who kept beating their breasts to paint Punjab as a backward state and its educational and healthcare systems as devastated should be ashamed of themselves today,” said Mr Badal adding that Congress and AAP worked on a systematic campaign to destroy the confidence of the Punjabi youth. “I have always maintained that no one can compete against Punjabis in any field, be it infrastructure, healthcare, IT, education, sports, air and land connectivity or heritage preservation.
Today, our children and teachers have reminded these political parties and their leaders where Punjab really stands. SAD is proud of them and I congratulate all teachers and students and their parents for upholding the pride of the state,” said Mr Badal.
