Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday passed a Bill for permanent exemption from the central medical exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for students of the state.

The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill, 2021 was passed with support from all parties except BJP. A 20-year-old NEET aspirant had earlier died by suicide hours before the exam.
