Chandigarh: To save the youth from drug addiction and help them to make their fortune better, the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has launched a special Skill Training program in the Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centres by initiating this program from Rehabilitation Center in Ferozepur.
Disclosing this here today, Mission Director PSDM Deepti Uppal informed that Mission has chalked out three month skill training program for 30 such youth to train as plumber in order to make them employable and include them into mainstream of society. She further informed that officials of PSDM held meeting with youth at OOAT Centre in this regard and the task of training had been given to M/s Lord Ganesh Institute of Management and Technology, Ferozepur.
All 30 trained youth have now been placed in district as plumbers; some of them get jobs, while others are self employed. To provide further assistance to these youth, Mission Director said that PSDM has also provided special kits for plumbing purposes to make them empowered through constructive steps for their better future. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Amrit Singh distributed these kits to 30 such drug addicts after completion of their skill courses.
