CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Trust Chairman and Punjab Nursing Colleges Association President Charanjit Singh Walia. The 61-year-old has been battling Kovid for the past two weeks this afternoon. He died at a private hospital in Nagar (Mohali). He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

In his condolence message, the Chief Minister described Charanjit Singh Walia as a good man and said that he was also a social worker, educator and filmmaker who contributed immensely for the welfare of the society. The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased and prayed to God to grant spiritual peace to the departed soul and strength to the family behind him.
