Chandigarh – “The truth is always bitter”, Senior Congress Leader and Punjab’s Leader of the Opposition, Partap Singh Bajwa said on Tuesday while referring to the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s vindictive statement that came after the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Punjab government led by AAP.
In a statement, Punjab’s Opposition Leader said, “There is not even an iota of exaggeration or misrepresentation in Rahul Gandhi’s assertions that Punjab shouldn’t be run on the directions of the AAP leadership sitting in Delhi. There have been numerous examples to prove that the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann is nothing more than a puppet, dancing to the tunes of his bosses sitting in Delhi.”
Bajwa said that a Raghav Chadha, who is considered a blue-eyed boy of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, was first made Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, he was then appointed as the chairman of Punjab’s interim advisory committee.
“Everybody in Punjab knows that RS MP Raghav Chadha runs a parallel government in Punjab”, Bajwa added.
Qadian Legislator, Bajwa said that AAP’s top leadership’s favorite, Naval Aggarwal has been deployed in Chandigarh, to monitor the official files of CM Bhagwant Mann. He attends important meetings of the Chief Secretary V.K. Janjua.
“Can CM Mann explain on whose directions Naval Aggarwal was deployed in Chandigarh”, LoP added?
Bajwa said that former additional chief Secretary of Delhi Satya Gopal and retired IRS officer Rakesh Goyal, known as close confidants of the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal were appointed as chairman and member of the Punjab Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) lately. Why didn’t the Punjab CM intervene then and appointed the Punjab-based bureaucrats for this these positions?
“Are these pieces of evidence not enough to prove that the Punjab government is being run by the AAP’s high-end leadership sitting in Delhi, while Bhagwant is nothing but a rubber stamp?
Moreover, the people of Punjab also remember that Bhagwant Mann was not the first choice of the AAP national convener, Arvind Kejriwal for the Punjab CM’s position. He opted for Mann at the last moment when no other alternative was left”, Bajwa added.
LoP went on to say that the timing of CM’s statement issued to the press last night is itself suspicious. “The CM’s vindictive statement was issued late in the night yesterday. The “Maharaja of Satauj” doesn’t remain in a condition to issuing a press statement during that period of the night”, LoP said while taking a jibe.
