lslamabad: Justice Umar Ata Bandial of Pakistan’s Supreme Court was sworn as a new chief justice on today in Pakistan. Bandial will serve as the Chief Justice of Pakistan until his retirement on September 18, 2023. As per the information, Justice Bandial has earlier refused to take oath.
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed has been removed from office. Justice Ahmed was appointed as the Chief Justice on December 21, 2019. After taking that oath, he became 28th Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court.
