-COUNSELLING TO COMMENCE FROM 9TH JULY
Chandigarh: “The dairy development department has chalked out a comprehensive plan for giving impetus to this core sector under which 500 unemployed youth from each of the districts of Punjab would be imparted training in the dairy development techniques as well as methodology which would result in the youth not only being self-employed but also emerge as job givers.”
Expressing these views here today the Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development and Labour Minister, Punjab, Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the dairy entrepreneurship training programme for the youth would be kickstarted from 16th July which would concentrate on the proper marketing of milk by reducing its production expenditure. This would also lead to the dairy sector emerging as the profitable one.
Mr. Sidhu further said that the subsidy to the tune of 25-33 per cent for the purpose of purchasing machinery for manufacturing milk products at the village level, purchasing milch cattle etc would be given by the state government. The Director, Dairy Development, Mr. Inderjit Singh on the occasion said that the next batch of this 4 week training would begin at the dairy training and extension centre, Bija (Ludhiana), Chatamli (Rupnagar), Gill (Moga), Abul Khurana (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Sardulgarh (Mansa), Phagwara (Kapurthala) and Verka (Amritsar). The trainees would be selected on 9th July at 10 AM at these centres through counseling. The interested candidates whether male/female must be matriculates having age between 18-45 years and having their own farm of atleast 5 milch animals, are eligible for undergoing this training.
