Building its pressure on Iran, the USA imposed sanctions on Iran’s multi-billion-dollar financial network that supports a paramilitary force, asserting that it hires and trains child soldiers for the nation’s Revolutionary Guards.
Ahead of reimposition of the United State’s barbaric sanction against Iran involving its oil sector, the announcements came two weeks early.
The US Department of the Treasury, while announcing restrictions, said, “A network of more than twenty businesses known as the Bonyad Taavon Basij was funding the Basij Resistance Force, which is one of the fives forces of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”
It claims that the force indulges in recruitment, selection, training and then deploying the band of child soldiers.
Further, the US Department alleged that these child soldiers are sent to fight in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps –fuelled conflicts over the area.
