‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’ actress Diana Sowle passed away at the age of 88.
In a statement in a local newspaper, her agent said that she died in the early morning hours of Friday (19th October).
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of a beloved friend, family member and actress Diana Sowle at the age of 88. Diana passed away in the early hours of Friday morning, October 19, with family by her side,” the statement said.
Adding further, the statement stated that she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed.
For the past 23 years, she has been running a tutoring institution for the underprivileged children in her hometown of Washington D.C.
The actress was seen in the 1994 film ‘Clear and Present Danger’, opposite actor Harrison Ford.
Also, she appeared in a long-running non-musical play ‘Shear Madness’ as Mrs Schubert.
Sowle lived in the Washington, D.C., with her husband who died in 2013.
