Patiala: Multani Mal Modi College organized a special programme to mark the World AIDS Day-2019 under the theme Communities make the difference issued by UNAIDS. This programme was organized by the Red Ribbon Club of the College in collaboration with Youth Welfare Department. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while addressing students said that for achieving the target of AIDS Free India by 2030 greater mobilization of communities is required to address the barriers that stop communities delivering services including restrictions on registration and an absence of social contracting modalities. He also said that along with controlling AIDS there is also dire need to spread awareness about T.B. as both the diseases are inter-connected. Government has set a goal to stop the new T.B. infection in India by the year 2025 and this goal can be achieved only by community participation.
