Happy-World-Teachers-Day-5-Oct

World Teachers’ Day, aka International Teachers’ Day, is celebrated on October 5 each year.

70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) (1948) will be marked on this World Teachers’ Day 2018.

UNESCO mark this day as to honour the “Teaching in Freedom” pact signed at a special intergovernmental conference on October 5, 1966, organized in Paris.

World Teachers’ Day focuses on ‘assessing, improving and most importantly, appreciating the educators of the world’ and to concentrate on issues related to teaching and teachers.

A theme is chosen by the UNESCO every year to mark the day.

This year’s theme on World Teachers’ Day is “The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher.”

This theme is chosen to prompt the global community that until the right to trained and qualified teachers is achieved, the right to education cannot be achieved.
