Dr Shi Zhengli, the top virologist at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology, has denied the theory that COVID-19 leaked from her lab, stating that there’s no evidence.

“I don’t know how the world has come to this, constantly pouring filth on an innocent scientist,” she said. Zhengli is known as China’s “bat woman” for tracking down SARS-like diseases in bats.
