Mumbai: The equity benchmark indexes started Wednesday’s session in green. The Sensex index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) started on 33,963.09 while the NSE Nifty50 opened at 10,209.55.

After a few minutes in trade, the S&P BSE Sensex traded high at 33,939.92 with 48.79 points or 0.14%.

And the Nifty50 of National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 4.45 points or 0.04% to trade at 10,202.85.

Thirty-eight out of fifty Nifty stocks were trading in green.

Top five gainers in the Nifty pack were HDFC, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Yes Bank, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex closed at 33,891, with a loss of 176 points, or 0.5%, while the Nifty50 settled at 10,198.40 on Tuesday.

The domestic institutional investors purchased and foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold net shares of Rs. 1,363.04 crore and Rs. 1,592.02 crore respectively, according to the provisional NSE data.
