Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed head constable Satnam Singh red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000/-.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said head constable Satnam Singh posted at City Police Station Jhuneer, Mansa district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Jeevan Kumar of Pilchian, Fatehabad (Haryana). The Complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused police official was demanding Rs 20,000 to help in a police case registered against him and the deal was struck at Rs, 10,000/-. He informed that had paid Rs. 5000/- to the accused constable as a first installment.

After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused head constable constable was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant as a second installment in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under different sections of prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
