AIIMS chief Dr Randeep Guleria has said that CT scan is being misused by COVID-19 patients. “There is no advantage in getting a CT scan if you have mild symptoms.” He added, “One CT scan is equal to 300-400 chest X-rays. Repeated CT scans in younger age group can increase cancer risk in later life,” he further said.

AIIMS chief Dr Randeep Guleria on Monday also listed some “warning signs” that home-isolated coronavirus patients should watch out for and these are: oxygen saturation falling below 93, feeling fatigued and faint and excessive pain in the chest. In such cases, patients should immediately contact their doctors and get hospitalised, if required, Dr Guleria added.
