Chandigarh, April 27: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 670207 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on thirteenth day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 670207 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 668436 MT of wheat 1771 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 160410 metric tonnes, MARKFED 142175 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 143471 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 107931 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 73528 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 40921 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 5506992 MT.
