The benchmark equity indices opened on a green note on Friday.
At 9:39 am, the S&P BSE Sensex scaled 286 points or 0.77% to trade at 37,407.22 while Nifty 50 reclaimed 91.15 points or 0.81% to trade at 11,325.50.
Main gainers in the Sensex pack were ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Steel, HDFC and Asian Paints.
Titan, Induslnd Bank, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, and Eicher Motors led the Nifty gain pack.
On the other side, in the morning session, top losers in the Sensex pack were TCS, Hindustan Unilever, Wipro, Bharti Airtel and Infosys.
Whereas the main laggards on Nifty pack were Bharti Airtel, HeroMotoCorp, Wipro, India Bulls Housing Finance and Yes Bank.
This weekend as the USA President Donald Trump recommended OPEC to lower crude prices at its meeting in Algeria, the oil prices were little changed globally after falling in the last session on Friday.
Meanwhile, the domestic stock market was closed on Thursday on the account of Muharram.
Although on Wednesday, the indices ended on a lower note.
The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 37,121.22, lower 169.45 points.
And the Nifty50 index of the NSE settled at 11,234.35, with a loss of 44.55 points.
This was the lowest closing mark in the market since late July.
