Anant Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries, has donated Rs 25 crore to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help with the state’s flood relief efforts. The donation was made in response to the recent devastating floods that have caused widespread damage and loss of life in Uttarakhand.
“The phenomenal resilience of the state and its people in the face of this crisis has been inspiring to all of us at Reliance,” said Anant Ambani in a statement. “We hope that this donation will help to provide much-needed relief to those who have been affected by the floods.”
The floods in Uttarakhand have been caused by the heaviest monsoon rains in the state in decades. The rains have triggered landslides and caused widespread damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and homes. At least 52 people have been killed and dozens more injured in the floods.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been working tirelessly to evacuate people from affected areas and provide relief supplies. The Indian Army has also been deployed to help with the relief effort.
