The equity benchmark indexes started in green on Thursday’s trade session. The 50- scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 10,612.65 as compared to its last close of 10,600.05.
Against its previous close of 35,199.80, the S&P BSE benchmark Sensex opened at 35,282.33.
At 10:13 am, the 30-share Sensex traded at 35309.18, with a gain of 109.38 points or 0.31% and the wider NSE Nifty50 was at 10625.20, up 25.15 points or 0.24%.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, twenty-three traded in green.
The top five gainers in the Nifty pack were Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Yes Bank and Tata Motors.
In the global markets, Asian stocks stepped ahead without recklessness.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan mounted 0.2% and after three straight monthly declines, has managed to hold up in November.
On the other hand, the Indian rupee strengthened to 71.11 against the American currency in early trade on Thursday.
The rupee gained 35 paise for the seventh consecutive day versus US dollar.
The home currency has expanded 143 paise in the previous six trading sessions.
On the account of Eid-e-Milad, the foreign exchange market was closed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex closed at 35,199, down 274 points or 0.8% while the 50-index Nifty ended 56 points, lower at 10,600.
