Amid positive global cues, the domestic stock markets started on a green note on Monday. The S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) index Sensex opened at 36,396.69.
And the Nifty or National Stock Exchange Fifty started at 10,930.70.
After trading for a few minutes, the BSE 30 traded 193.44 points or 0.53% higher at 36,387.74, while the broader Nifty50 gained 53.35 points or 0.49% at 10,930.10.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, forty-three led with gains.
The top five gainers on the Nifty pack were Vedanta, Tata Steel, Yes Bank, Hindalco Industries and JSW Steel with gaining between 2.12% and 3.88%.
In the global markets, E-Mini futures for the S&P 500 scaled so far as 1.9%. Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.3% to a six-week high and the MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan climbed up 1.8%.
Meanwhile, the 30-share Sensex had ended 23.89 points or 0.07% higher at 36,194.30 and the Nifty50 settled at 10,876.75, with a gain of 18.05points or 0.17% on Friday.
