National Employment Policy is the need of the hour today to solve the unemployment problem

New Delhi: The employment movement by the Sanyukt Rojgaar Andolan Samiti(SRAS) from 16 August to 22 August demanded the legitimisation of a National Employment Policy Act in Parliament. Representatives from all over the country participated in this employment movement. A memorandum was submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and other Union Ministers to make a National Employment Policy Act in Parliament.

The draft of the National Employment Policy has been submitted to the Central Government by the SRAS. The SRAS expects cooperation from the government to implement it by amending it so that the unemployed will get employment. If the National Employment Policy is not implemented, then the next phase of the employment movement will start on November 26. This was stated by the National Coordinating Incharge of the Sanyukt Rojgaar Andolan Samiti, Krishna Yadav, in a press conference today. Earlier, a meeting of the Sanyukt Rojgaar Andolan Samiti was held at the Constitution Club of India today, and after discussion, a further strategy was made, under which an awareness campaign will be conducted through a public relations campaign in the whole country.

Krishna Yadav informed us that an employment movement committee will be formed at the Lok Sabha and the district level. He further said that the committee will run an awareness campaign about the National Employment Policy in all educational institutions and an employment parliament/dialogue will be organised in all the Lok Sabha constituencies. All the organisations associated with the Sanyukt Rojgaar Andolan Samiti will invite all the Rajya Sabha, and Lok Sabha MPs and their cooperation will be sought in making the National Employment Policy Act.

Krishna Yadav said that the public relations campaign will be intensified in the entire country before the next phase of the movement, and this campaign will be taken to the village level. The first phase of the movement by the Sanyukt Rojgar Andolan Samiti lasted from August 16 to August 22, and people from all over the country participated in it. As awareness of the employment movement grew, so did the participation of people in the employment movement. On August 16th, we started the tricolour padayatra from Nandnagri to Jantar Mantar, but it was stopped by the police at Gokalpuri itself. Still, the enthusiasm of the delegates from all over the country did not shake, and they sat on a continuous fast at the venue itself. Representatives of more than 200 organisations from all over the country participated in this employment movement.

All the people said unanimously that it has been 75 years since the country gained independence, but no government has discussed or raised the issue of the National Employment Policy. At present, there is a need to formulate a comprehensive policy for all sectors. A National Employment Policy is the need of the hour, and the problem of unemployment can be solved only by enacting a National Employment Policy Act. Today, the unemployment rate in the urban areas of the country is around 9 per cent and in rural areas, it is 7 per cent. If this data is neglected, then this percentage can increase further.
