Earlier on account of the terror attack Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has decided to call for a completed ban on all Pakistan artistes.
Now, the former and current members of BCCI said that India should not play Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup in the aftermath.
Former BCCI secretary, Sanjay Patel said,” How can you expect India to play Pakistan at the time when we have lost so many of our brothers in this cowardly terrorist attack? I am of the firm view that India should not play Pakistan in the coming World Cup.”
The BCCI secretary clearly said that cricket will only take place in Pakistan if terrorism is stopped.
“If we play World Cup, then it’s clear that game is bigger than the country’s image. There is always a limit to everything and this time all limits have been crossed. For me, India is first and it’s not only me who has such a sentiment. Cricket will only take place if terrorism is stopped. I hope the current COA and BCCI takes note of it.,” Patel added.
The IND vs. PAK Cricket World Cup 2019 match is scheduled to be held at Old Trafford in Manchester on June 16 and according to World Cup rules, in case a team doesn’t play its scheduled match, the opponent team gets the points from the match.
On losing points rule, the Indian International Cricketer, Harbhajan Singh said,” I don’t care about losing points as the Indian team is powerful enough to win the World Cup without playing Pakistan.”
Even, IMG Reliance wrote to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that it will no longer broadcast production services for PSL, citing the Pulwama attack last Thursday as the reason behind the move.
