Mumbai: Amid mixed global clues, the equity benchmark indexes opened on red on Tuesday’s trade session.
The Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex started on 34,068.92 as compared to its last close of 34,067.40.
And the Nifty50 barometer of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 10,239.40 against its previous close of 10,250.85.
However around 10:15, the stock market was trading in green.
At 10:17 am, the 30-share Sensex traded at 34129.96, up 62.56 points or 0.18%, and the NSE Nifty50 was at 10280.65, with a gain of 29.80 points or 0.29%.
Globally, the US shares fell in the overnight trade with the S&P 500 index closing to confirming its second correction of 2018.
Meanwhile, the domestic institutional investors purchased and foreign portfolio investors sold net equities of Rs. 2,526.9 crore and Rs. 2,230.79 crore respectively on Monday, according to provisional NSE data.
