The domestic stock markets started on a green note on Wednesday’s trade session after the new central bank governor was appointed.
The Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange started at 35,277.84 and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty50 at 10,591.
After trading for few minutes, at 10:49 am, the S&P BSE Sensex traded high at 347.21 points or 0.99% to 35497.22, while the broader Nifty 50 traded at 10657.30, up 108.15 points or 1.03%.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, forty-three traded with gains.
The top gainers in the Nifty pack were Indiabulls Housing Finance, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Yes Bank, gaining between 1.52% and 3.47%.
Meanwhile, the 30-share Sensex recovered 723 points to settle at 35,150.01 on Tuesday.
While the Nifty50 index of National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended at 10,549.15 with a gain of 215 points.
