The equity benchmark indices started Tuesday’s trading session on a secure note.
The S&P Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index opened at 35,004.33 and the National Stock Exchange’s (NSE) Nifty50 index at 10,550.15.
At 9:36 am, the S&P BSE Sensex traded up 0.74% or 256.47 points at 35,121.57 and the broader Nifty50 index was at 10,577.45, with a high of 0.74% or 64.95 points.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, thirty-seven traded with gains.
Before its 2nd quarter earnings, Infosys with a high of 0.69% traded flat.
Meanwhile, the Sensex closed at 34,865.10, higher 131.52 points or 0.38% on Monday and the broader Nifty settled up at 40 points or 0.38% to trade at 10,512.50.
According to the provisional NSE data, domestic institutional investors and foreign portfolio investors were net buyers as they purchased equities worth Rs. 294.78 crore and Rs. 67.86 crore respectively.
