Share Market: The equity benchmark indexes started in green on Monday with PSU bank, and financial services stocks and auto leading the gains.
The 50-scrip Nifty of NSE started at 10,612.65, against its last close of 10,526.75.
While the Sensex index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 35,118.09 as compared to its previous close of 34,981.02.
At 9:14 am, the S&P BSE Sensex traded high with 160.15 points or 0.46% at 35,141.17 and the Nifty50-barometer of the NSE (National Stock Exchange), was at 10,573.65, up 46.90 points or 0.45%.
The top five gainers in the Nifty pack were Bharti Airtel, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharti Infratel, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum with gains between 1.99% and 3.91%.

In the global markets, MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan mounted 0.4% while Japan’s Nikkei edged up 0.6.
Meanwhile, the Indian rupee gained 70.30 paise by 39 paise against the American currency on Monday’s early trade amid falling crude oil prices.
The home currency on Thursday closed at 70.69 after edging 77 paise against the US dollar.
