Share Market Today: The equity benchmark indexes started on a negative note on Friday amid weak global cues.
The S&P Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index started at and NSE Nifty50 opened at 10,944.25.
At 09:59 am, the Sensex traded at 36356.70, with a loss of 74.97 points or 0.21%, and the 50-scrip Nifty was at 10921.80, down 29.90 points or 0.27%.
The top laggards on Nifty pack were Indian Oil Corporation, Coal India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, HDFC and Infosys.
In the global markets, the Nasdaq fell 19.5%, Japan’s Nikkei shed 1.8% and the Chinese blue chips plunged 1.2%.
While the Australian stocks dropped 1% and the S&P 500 traded at the loss of 15%.
Meanwhile, the 30-share Sensex settled at 36,431.67, with a loss of 52.66 points and the broader Nifty50 ended 15.60 points lower at 10,951.70 on Thursday.
