A verbal spat between Australia captain, Time Paine and Indian captain Virat Kohli took place during the 2nd Test match.
Both captains played down the on-field banter as being a legitimate part of the game.
Paine spoke about the verbal confrontations in a post-match conference.
Time Paine, captain of Australian Cricket Team said, “I don’t think we did touch, to be honest. It got pretty close. But it is what it is. It was a highly competitive Test match from both teams.”
“There’s a lot on the line and both teams desperately want to win and sometimes that stuff happens.”
When asked whether Virat Kohli is annoying, he said, “Not to me, I love it. I enjoy watching him, I always have. I think he brings out the competitive spirit in a lot of people, which is great, and I’m sure it was great to watch.”
Australia beat India by 146 runs leveling the Test series by 1-1.
