Ranchi: Lalu Prasad Yadav has been jailed for 5 years and fined 60 lakhs in the case of embezzlement of Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda Treasury under the Fodder Scam. According to the information, other convicts have also been punished with imprisonment and fine. Apart from this, Justice SK Shashi of the Special Court of CBI had fixed the date for hearing on the sentence on February 15, including Lalu Yadav.

According to the information received, apart from 38 convicts, three other convicts could not appear in the court on February 15, due to which the court had issued an arrest warrant against the three. Of the 38 convicts who have been sentenced, 35 are lodged in Birsa Munda jail while three other convicts, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, are admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science due to health reasons. The jail administration arranged the production of all 38 convicts in the court through video conference.
