The domestic stock markets opened on a negative note on Monday’s early trade amid weak global cues.
The S&P Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive index opened at 35,204.66 as compared to its previous close of 35,673.25.
The broader NSE Nifty50 started at 10,508.70 against its last close of 10693.70.
At 9:35 am, the BSE 30 was at 35077.91, down 595.34points or 1.67% and the Nifty50 was at 10512.40, with a loss of 181.30points or 1.70%.
Entire 30-share Sensex pack and all 50 Nifty stocks plunged.
Losing between 2.48% and 3.72%, Adani Ports, Reliance Industries, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Mahindra and Mahindra and Bajaj Finserv were top laggards in the Nifty pack.
The Sensex had a downfall of as much as 561.91 points and the Nifty as much as 185 points at the time of writing this report.
Globally, the MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 1.4% to a three-week low.
Dow futures slid 0.8% and S&P futures lost 0.8% in the Asian day.
