Fugitive liquor baron Vijay Mallya has now moved the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court verdict.
Mallya has moved the top court in a bid to remove fugitive tag against his name by the Enforcement Directorate.
Mallya’s plea also wants to stop seizure of his properties.
Recalling, Mallya left India in March 2016 and face charges of defrauding banks to the tune of 9,000 crores.
He is currently in London where the court finished hearing on India’s extradition case against him in September this year and is due to pronounce its verdict on December 10.
After Christian Michele’s sedition succeeding, there are speculations that Mallya is going to attempt the same.
But right now, Vijay Mallya has moved to SC to remove the fugitive tag against his name which is that on June 22.
Enforcement Directorate has sought to declare Mallya as a fugitive offender which meant his property could be confiscated and that he was unable to pay money to people especially his employees of the Kingfisher Airlines and other charges against him.
However, Mallya has interestingly been reacting on social media site Twitter in the past two days saying that he has the money, he wants to repay, the Indian government needs to take it back, why are they not responding.
So tomorrow we are assuming in the SC the first-day hearing to begin and where Vijay Mallya would specifically focus if the fugitive tag would be removed against him which primarily means that he is not running away, according to him.
